Lane Transit District Celebrates Springfield on Friday

This Friday, September 6, Lane Transit District (LTD) is hosting free live music and a salsa dancing lesson at Springfield Station. At the plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., move to the rhythm of Descarga 54’s Latin beats and salsa melodies, featuring a complimentary dance lesson from Salseros. Attendees can also check out the new bike share hubs at Springfield Station, then join the Springfield Block Party, in the heart of downtown, on Main Street between 3rd and 7th Streets.

The Springfield Block Party takes place from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and is free, though there will food and beverages available for purchase.

Then, hop on a bike or bus and travel about one mile to the Willamalane Adult Activity Center for the Communities of Color and Allies Network (CCAN) First Friday event! Co-hosted by LTD and Willamalane Park and Recreation District, everyone is welcome at this all-ages event with free food, networking opportunities, lawn games, and a sensory booth. Alongside special guests from Eugene/Springfield NAACP, attendees can learn about local parks and recreation, transportation options, and small businesses.

The First Friday event is free and takes place from 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at 215 West C Street in Springfield.
