LTD Wraps Up Yearlong Eugene Station Modernization Project

January 8, 2025

Lane Transit District’s (LTD) central hub has reopened, following a yearlong renovation. The $3.8 million Eugene Station Modernization project brings a variety of accessibility upgrades and amenities to better serve the community.

Some of the key components include modernized restrooms, improved back-lit station wayfinding signage, energy efficiency upgrades, and revitalized public spaces. Several safety and security changes were made around Eugene Station. The “Next Stop Center,” LTD’s public meeting room at the corner of West 11th & Olive, was remodeled as well, to enhance the accessibility, technology, and comfort of events held there.

“The sustainable design and infrastructure improvements at Eugene Station will support LTD’s operations far into the future,” said Jameson Auten, LTD’s Chief Executive Officer. “This project is the practical application of LTD’s Core Values, from equity and safety to collaboration and safety.”

LTD is hosting an event to mark the work’s completion:

  • WHAT: Grand re-opening of Eugene Station, featuring a short program, light refreshments, and a tour of the new facilities.
  • WHEN: Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • WHERE: Eugene Station Customer Service Center at 1080 Willamette Street

80% of the project budget was funded through federal infrastructure grants, and 20% of the project was funded through local match dollars. Information about LTD's Annual Budget and Community Investment Plan can be found on the Financials webpage.
