LTD's Rhody Express Expands Service in Florence
Starting Monday, June 17, the Rhody Express – a service of Lane Transit District – will increase from one-hour to 30-minute frequency.
Ridership on the Rhody Express is approaching pre-pandemic levels, with noticeable increases in the spring and summer. For example, ridership in May 2024 was 18% higher than ridership in May 2023.
There will be a kickoff event in Florence to mark this expansion:
· WHAT: Florence-area officials and LTD leadership will officially launch the service increase, and the public is encouraged to join. Come for the Rhody Express reusable grocery bags and stay to celebrate!
· WHERE: Rhody Express stop at Grocery Outlet (2066 Oregon Coast Highway, US-101)
· WHEN: Monday, June 17, 10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
The route travels a north and south loop around the Florence area, serving locations such as Florence Food Share, Three Rivers Casino, Old Town Park, Peace Harbor Hospital, and the Siuslaw Public Library. Traveling from the Eugene-Springfield area to Florence is easy on Link Lane, which drops riders at the same Grocery Outlet location where Rhody Express and the Florence-Yachats Connector have stops. These services make for a fun, worry-free, and car-free trip to Oregon’s central coast!
