More EmX Service and Few Bus Schedule Changes During the World Athletics Championships

July 7, 2022

Lane Transit District (LTD) will operate more frequent EmX service between Eugene and Springfield stations during World Athletics Championships Oregon22, and asks passengers along some routes to be prepared for service adjustments during the event at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field on July 15 to 24, 2022.

“LTD is making adjustments to its service to safely accommodate various track and field events, such as the marathon,” said Mark Johnson, LTD Interim General Manager. “We know that what seems like a minor adjustment to some people is actually a high hurdle for others, so we are providing information in advance to assist those impacted along a few routes to plan their travel during the event.”

The World Athletics Championships Oregon22 is expected to bring more than 200,000 visitors to the community. During this time, all LTD passengers are encouraged to plan accordingly for their transit trips as there will be detours and potential capacity limits on specific routes. This could delay usual transit trips.
