Veterans Ride LTD for Free to Lane County Stand Down

September 20, 2024

Lane Transit District (LTD) is offering free rides to Lane County Stand Down (LCSD) to all military Veterans and their families. The event takes place in the Wheeler Pavilion at the Lane County Events Center on Friday, September 27, 2024. Participants simply have to tell the bus operator they’re headed to LCSD and they will be given an LTD day pass that will also allow them to get home.

LCSD is an annual event for Veterans and their families, connecting them to area organizations that offer medical care, personal care services and items, meals and food, Veteran’s benefits, clothes, housing information, and more. LTD will be there passing out a limited supply of free reading glasses, as well as information about our Honored Rider and Half-Fare programs.

Anyone aged 65 years and older, including military Veterans, can enroll in LTD’s Honored Rider Pass program. LTD also offers Half-Fare to qualifying people with disabilities. People can apply for either program at LTD’s Customer Service centers in Eugene and Springfield stations.

Complete bus schedules are available online. View LTD service alerts online, or follow @LaneTransit on X (Twitter).
